Moving, Alice in Wonderland, DSDS, a New Blog, and a Surprise Get-Together Thing :D Although, Not Necessarily in That Order

I'm working on moving to Rhode Island, and we leave on Thursday.

So last Friday I went to the mall with my friend to see Alice in Wonderland. What she didn't tell me, was that she also invited four friends as a sort of last-goodbye. It was very very very awesome, and I was really glad to be able to see everyone one last time! :D One friend gave me a little music box thing that plays English Country Gardens! :D

Now for the movie review...

One friend already published a review on his Facebook but mine is a bit different. First off, the movie was pretty different from the book. In the beginning, if no one had told me I was watching Alice in Wonderland, I wouldn't have known. It started off with Alice at 20 years old and on her way to a party. There she sees the white rabbit, and follows him down a hole. In the book, she's with her sister, who's reading a book. Alice falls asleep, unknown to the reader till the end of the story, and she goes to Wonderland.

I loved what Burton did to the movie though. It was really cool. Johnny Depp was great as the Mad Hatter, and I loved the Cheshire Cat.

Last week, Manuel Hoffmann was eliminated from DSDS, leaving Kim Debkowski, Thomas Karaoglan, Menowin Froehlich, Mehrzad Marashi, and Helmut Orosz.

NOT.

He was still eliminated, but so was Helmut Orosz! Helmut was eliminated because a video surfaced, in which he and a friend were taped doing cocaine. So now they are down to Kim Debkowski, Thomas Karaoglan, Menowin Froehlich, and Mehrzad Marashi!

Found a really cool blog, written by a teacher at a school who eats the lunch served by the cafeteria. It's called Fed Up With Lunch: The School Lunch Project.

PS -- I love poker. And I learned how to play hearts!

Caskets and a Shout-Out

 

Costco sells caskets, which begs the question: Can I buy them in bulk?

I don't know about you guys, but don't you think it's annoying how the prices of caskets have just skyrocketed? Dunno, I think maybe the casket companies have decided to take advantage of the swine flu? Anyway. I'm just glad that Costco sells them. I'm sure they're like $400 for a pack of two, probably.

Too bad, they're EXPENSIVE! They range from about $1300 to $3000! Well, they can just...use the caskets themselves, I'm going to Ikea! 

(Apparently called Idea in Germany? The casket price is about $587)

It's even made with mahogany! Like, seriously? If you're gonna buy someone a casket, at least it's European! You can practically hear them bragging in Heaven (or not Heaven), "Yeah, I was buried in a Scandinavian casket. Mahogany." Better than, "Yeah, I was buried in a casket from Costco. 18-gauge steel."

Anyway, change of topic now. I'd like to give a shout-out to www.dustbury.comfor embedding one of my posts into one of her own; got me about 10 views in one day! *victory dance* Hey, for an only-a-week-old blog, that's pretty awesome! Also, a shout-out to my favorite blog Deutschland über Alles. It's very, very funny and I highly recommend it.
